Who we are
In PRB, we are all very fanatic fly fishing anglers. We love the outdoors and the different fresh waters that can be fished in the Aysen area. As a guiding service, our view and purpose in this industry may be different from other fly fishing businesses. While we strive to make a living out of what we love, we also embrace the opportunity to educate our customers on the state of our natural resources both locally and beyond. Also, every trip we provide is intended to be as unique to each client as possible.

As we always do, most of the pictures used in this presentation –an the ones included in our forthcoming website– come from people that have recently fallen in love with fly fishing, some from experienced local guides that have been doing this even before the first fly shop was established in the country, and last but not least the experience of foreign fly fishermen that have found in Patagonia that piece of heaven on Earth.

His favorite way of catching trout is with very small dry flies that the average angler can’t see on the water. Also, if looking for some king salmon action, this is the guy you should to talk to.

Ives Bio:
Age 23, born and rise in Central Patagonia, Coyhaique city. Ives started fishing with his dad in the untouched Patagonian waters at the age of five. He grew up drinking mate and eating salmon and lamb. A boy scout with great knowledge of the Aysen region, crazy about fly fishing like no other.
Ives is currently at college studying Oceanic Engineering. When not fishing the river, he is fishing the sea, when none of these two are possible he plays the guitar or rugby.

JD´s favorite way of catching trout is by nymphing the lurking brownies at the bottom of Patagonia ´s freestone rivers

Juan David (aka JD) Bio:
Age 32, born and rised in the central segment of the country, the port city of Valparaiso. Started fishing at the age of six with his father in Valparaiso´s harbor. With a great passion for fishing, this guy has fished intensively salt water for years along the country for Chilean sea bass and sole fish. Fell in love with Patagonia and his wife in 2003 when he was a college student doing some summer work in Aysen. He has fly fished in many destinations such as Argentina, Europe, India, Nepal , US and Brazil always looking for new species.
He holds a college degree in English from UCV and a Diploma degree in Finance from UAI. Currently works for 8 months a year in an office, but from December to April, he removes his tie and goes south for the Patagonian trout season.
Apart from fishing, he loves mountain biking and is an avid musician playing the silver flute and other wind instruments for several years.

Central Patagonia
Central Patagonia is one of the most beautiful places where fly fishing can be practiced. Particularly, Chilean Patagonia is the southernmost piece of land of the country where mountains, lakes and rivers surround the whole area. Patagonia weather is unbreakable; wind and solitude will be your constant companions.

Nothing like a RainBrown, excuse me rainbow after the rain.
One of the best parts of living here is that you could fish a different river, creek, or lake each week of the summer and not repeat a single one for a long time. Yes, we are talking about those thin small blue lines on the Central Patagonia atlas that many anglers wonder if they held trout. Most of them actually do, having an important number of fish because they're followed by a hiking trail instead of a road, their waters flow straight from melted snow with no dams or pollution, and the number of anglers that fish here is greatly reduced because of the effort required to get to them.

Yeah, that´s the spot...leave your fly right there...trout will come out any time now.

The Waters
There are countless waters to be fished in the Aysen area, and we make sure you get to test your skills in the water of your preference. From large fast flowing waters to regular freestone crystal clear rivers, from ocean-like lakes to small, but perfectly structured ponds.

Do you think it is a good idea to build my house on the green area at the botton right?

Sunny day, crystal clear water...you should probably cast a fly there.
Dry Fly?

Dry fly fishing is a common practice in this area. Although, fishing techniques will depend upon trout eating behavior, water and weather conditions on a given day, we aim to fulfill our client s´ preferences whether it is nymphing, hopper/dropper or streaming. There are several fishing options, where we will of course advise you with the most suitable one. As you can see, we love what we do, and we´re fully committed to make your trip and unforgettable experience.

Brownies and Rainy's grand hopper are very good friends.

In PRB, we strongly believe that a picture is worth a 1000 words

This was his very first rainbow in a lake

Trout have a lot to eat in this lake...guess what this guy has been feeding on? We´ll let you know in our next posting when we have all the pictures compiled : )

We love what we do. Can you tell by the picture?

Yes, we also fish for searuns.

I just love under water pictures.
